Fine-Mapping of qECL7.1, a Quantitative Trait Locus Contributing to Epicotyl Length in Adzuki Bean (Vigna angularis)

نویسندگان

چکیده

Increasing the epicotyl length (ECL) of adzuki bean cultivars enhances suitability for mechanical weeding during vegetative stages and harvesting at pod maturity. To explore genetic control ECL, to identify molecular markers that could facilitate breeding increased recombinant inbred lines (RILs) were developed from a cross between Toiku161 (long epicotyls) Chihayahime (ordinary epicotyls). In this study, four quantitative trait loci (QTLs) identified ECL by QTL-seq analysis, one each on chromosomes 2, 7, 10 11. Insertion deletion (InDel)-based mapping also detected QTLs qECL7.1, 10, qECL10.1. Substitution using InDel, cleaved amplified polymorphic sequence (CAPS), derived (dCAPS), single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) narrowed chromosomal location qECL7.1 418 kb region flanked DNA TC99_10,211,134 bp TC102_10,628,880 bp. A total 35 genes predicted within region. The here will contribute towards marker-assisted selection desirable long genotypes allow mechanization more efficient production.

Draft genome sequence of adzuki bean, Vigna angularis

Adzuki bean (Vigna angularis var. angularis) is a dietary legume crop in East Asia. The presumed progenitor (Vigna angularis var. nipponensis) is widely found in East Asia, suggesting speciation and domestication in these temperate climate regions. Here, we report a draft genome sequence of adzuki bean. The genome assembly covers 75% of the estimated genome and was mapped to 11 pseudo-chromosom...

Isolation and characterization of a cyanidin-catechin pigment from adzuki bean (Vigna angularis).

Adzuki bean is used to prepare many kinds of foods in east Asia, and the seed coat contains water-soluble anthocyanins, catechins, and flavonols. In the present study, ethyl acetate-soluble purplish pigments were isolated from adzuki bean. Pigments of soaked adzuki bean were extracted with 1% HCl in methanol. Ethyl acetate-soluble purple pigments were obtained from the methanol soluble componen...

Antioxidant activity of polyphenols of adzuki bean (Vigna angularis) germinated in abiotic stress conditions.

BACKGROUND Adzuki sprouts are one of more valuable but still underappreciated dietary supplements which may be considered as functional food. Sprouting reduces anti-nutritional factors and increases the bioavailability of macro and micronutrients and also affects phytochemical levels. Exposure of plants to abiotic stresses results in change in production of phytochemical compounds. The aim of t...

Stem Rot on Adzuki Bean (Vigna angularis) Caused by Rhizoctonia solani AG 4 HGI in China

During late August and early September 2011, stem rot symptoms were observed on adzuki bean plants (Vigna angularis) growing in fields located in Beijing and Hebei Province, China, respectively. In this study, four isolates were obtained from infected stems of adzuki bean plants. Based on their morphology, and sequence and polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment length polymorphism (PCR-...

Development and Validation of EST-SSR Markers from the Transcriptome of Adzuki Bean (Vigna angularis)

The adzuki bean (Vigna angularis (Ohwi) Ohwi and Ohashi) is an important grain legume of Asia. It is cultivated mainly in China, Japan and Korea. Despite its importance, few genomic resources are available for molecular genetic research of adzuki bean. In this study, we developed EST-SSR markers for the adzuki bean through next-generation sequencing. More than 112 million high-quality cDNA sequ...
